Organic Beauty is a food supplement in gummy form that combines selected micronutrients for the beauty area with organic-certified plant extracts. The character is fruity and dark-berried, the texture soft and compact. The concept is deliberately everyday-friendly: two pieces a day are intended as the daily portion, and a tin contains 60 pieces for 30 days.

Production and character

The recipe uses pectin as a gelling agent and therefore contains no gelatine. A coating of sunflower oil and carnauba wax reduces sticking and ensures a rather dry surface. With nature-based recipes, colour and consistency may vary over time. According to the product information, this does not affect quality, safety or effect.

Composition

At the centre are vitamin A, biotin, zinc and folic acid as specifically selected nutrients. Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and skin, zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, skin and nails, and folate (folic acid) contributes to normal cell division. In addition, plant components such as camu camu, carrot, tulsi, guava, bamboo and lemon are part of the composition. They shape the "botanical" character, without any medical effect being derived from this.

❗️ Our most important tip: Be careful with Vitamin A combinations! Since “Bio Beauty” already contains 120 µg of Vitamin A, we should be careful not to unknowingly increase this dosage. If you are also taking a strong multivitamin supplement, quickly check if it also contains Vitamin A. This way, we all avoid drastically and permanently exceeding the BfR limit for food supplements.

The Fact Check: What's in it and what does science say?

Vitamin A:

In the product: 120 µg per daily dose.
Official recommendation (BfR): Advises a maximum supplementation dose of 200 µg per day, as very high doses can have undesirable side effects. The Rockets remain safely below this limit with 120 µg.
In a famous long-term clinical study from Finland (New England Journal of Medicine), almost 30,000 test subjects received 20 mg of beta-carotene (the precursor to Vitamin A) daily, which, however, drastically increased the risk of lung cancer in these smokers.
The US ARED study (on slowing the progression of macular degeneration in the eye) initially used 15 mg of beta-carotene daily but replaced it in later studies for safety reasons.
For Vitamin A, meta-analyses of large studies show that an extremely high supplementation dose of 25,000 International Units (approx. 7.5 mg) daily is associated with an increased mortality risk.

Zinc:

In the product: 2.5 mg (25% of daily requirement).
Official recommendation (BfR): Advises a maximum of 6.5 mg daily via food supplements. The dose is therefore a very effective and absolutely safe basis.

Biotin (Vitamin B7):

In the product: 50 µg.
Official recommendation (DGE): Recommends a daily requirement of approx. 40 µg. The gummies excellently cover this requirement for maintaining skin and hair.

Sugar & Calories:

In the product: 17.6 kcal and a negligible 0.8 g of sugar.
The insight: As a daily beauty routine, this is absolutely harmless compared to conventional sugar-rich gummies.
