Robust Mountain Forest Honey from Spain’s Oak Woodlands | 910 g Jar
This mountain forest honey combines mountain blossoms with honeydew from oak woodlands, particularly holm oak and English oak. It has a dark, robust profile with resinous, spicy and malty-caramel notes, a mineral character and a long, warm finish.
It pairs well with mature sheep’s and goat’s cheese, dark bread with salted butter, nut granola, roasted vegetables, game, dressings and sauces. Stir it into warm rather than boiling drinks to preserve its aroma.
All auteniQ honeys come from the Cuartero family apiary in Fuendejalón at the foot of the Moncayo mountains in Aragón. Around 3,000 bee colonies move to different flowering regions across Spain according to the season. The honey is bottled without blending in honey from other producers, so colour and flavour can vary naturally between harvests.
Pure honey crystallises naturally depending on variety and temperature. If required, gently liquefy it in a low-temperature water bath.
